Lamarite V Real Slates
- Lamarite slates are so lightweight, they do not stress the structure. This property makes it the best options for application on wooden frame buildings and for repairing old buildings where structures cannot be over stressed.
- Slate roofs shouldn’t be walked on whereas you can walk on Lamarite roofs making it easier to repair or install.
- Using Lamarite composite slates saves up to 75% of installation time.
- Fragments of slate (from the splitting at the quarry) will fall from the slates for the first two years which will cause debris build-up and may be dangerous.
- 7% to 8% of all the slates sent to the jobs are cracked. These slates use to be removed by the roofers because each slate was tested. With the current emphases with productivity all of these slates are installed now and will break on the roof within a year or two. These slates are very dangerous and will certainly impact the performance of the roof.
- There is much less wastage in Lamarite slates compared to a typical 15% rejects in natural slates.
