About Us
Standard Engineering & Accessories Corporation (SEAC) was originally incorporated as H&S Pochin Limited in 1916 as part of the Standard Engineering Company, manufacturing fasteners and ancillary products. In 1981, the company innovated Polytops® fasteners and expanded its supply to building merchants, developers and other industries. The new business was renamed SEAC and it continues to expand by adding new and innovative products especially to the building and construction industry. Fasteners like direct-insert Concrete Screws, powder coated fasteners, glazing packers and Stranglehold® Banding were added to its product range after Polytops®.
The growth area for SEAC has always been supplying products that answer the needs for non-maintenance, good aesthetics, speed to install and durability, as with Polytops®. In 2007, SEAC launched the first composite building material, the composite roofing slate, and with growing interest in the market, added composite decking, railing and fencing.
Specialist Fasteners
SEAC maintains its leading position in specialist construction fasteners by supplying superior quality products with first class service. The innovation and pioneering of Polytops® polymer headed fasteners over 25 years ago has been a growth area for the company. The plastic top/head pins, nails and screws, also referred by industry as Polytops® have now been adopted for many manufacturing applications. While working with major manufacturers of PVC-u cellular board within the building and construction industry, SEAC diversifies into new niche areas through our continual policy of development and ability to embrace technological advancements.
To complement these products in the building and construction sector, SEAC acquired Lightning Stranglehold® Banding to supply flexible metal banding or hose clip products and also began to manufacture injection moulded Glazing Packers and Powder Coated Fasteners. SEAC now also supplies direct-insert concrete or masonry screws, in their new range Con-sert fixings for concrete or masonry applications.
Composite Building materials
With the trade experience in the building and construction industry, SEAC brought in these exciting products (composite decking, railing, fencing and roofing slates) that are the answers to today's modern lifestyle. They are engineered for practical reasons especially minimal maintenance, durability, safety, ease of installation and best of all without compromising on looks. They look as good as traditional materials.
Another very important aspect in today's products is sustainability. The composite products that SEAC supply are manufactured from a high proportion of recycled plastics mixed with natural minerals. Eg Fiberon composite fencing has over 80% of recycled content. Composites materials are so tough and durable, these products come with years of manufacturers warranty (20 years for Fiberon composite decking, railing and fencing, 50 years for Lamarite composite roofing slates).
Customer Service
SEAC's production facilities, warehouse and sales are all in one central location (Midlands), enabling customer orders to be met quickly and efficiently. Most deliveries are ex-stock so lead time on orders are kept to a minimum, reducing your stock holding requirements. Custom packaging can also be catered.
